Real 5-Star Reviews "Best Place I've Ever Gone for Eye Care."
Had my first Cataract surgery in Dec 2017 following up with the second in Jan 2018. Dr. Howard Levin was my surgeon for both my eyes. He was a great surgeon with excellent bedside manners. I have found over the years when you fine a good surgeon their bedside manners are terrible. Dr. Levin had both the skill for surgery and the kindness people need during this time in their life. THANK YOU Dr. Levin for being my DoctorView More Google Reviews
After living in 6 states and 4 countries I can say this is the best place I've ever gone for eye care. Everyone on staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They genuinely care about you and want to keep your eyes healthy, but also make finding the right glasses or contacts joyful! I've been using Contemporary Ophthalmology of Erie for over 10 years and can't imagine stopping now! I've since moved to Pittsburgh and still make the annual trip to this office because I know the care I receive is going to be worth the drive!View More Google Reviews

Dr. Imbrogno was able to determine what was wrong with my eyes, after 2 other out-of-state opthalmologists were not. He set up a good program for me, and has been kind, professional, and encouraging.View More Google Reviews

PRK is similar to LASIK, but the refractive surgery technique does not involve making a corneal flap. Patients with thin corneas or certain occupations or hobbies that could disrupt a corneal flap can benefit from PRK. Like LASIK, PRK can give you 20/20 vision and eliminate your dependency on glasses and contact lenses.
If you have clouded, blurry vision, you may have cataracts. Our surgeons treat this common condition by removing the cloudy crystalline lens and replacing it with an intraocular lens. This outpatient surgery is fast, safe, and effective.
Our practice diagnoses and treats keratoconus, dry eyes, irregular corneal surfaces, infections, scars, and Fuchs' dystrophy. Our treatment options for eye diseases range from drops to corneal transplants.
Glaucoma is a group of conditions often resulting in abnormal intraocular pressure, which can lead to vision loss. Our ophthalmologists and optometrists provide nonsurgical and surgical procedures to help manage this chronic condition and protect your vision.
Our ophthalmology practice is equipped to help patients suffering from refractive errors including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. After an exam with our optometrist, we can recommend a solution for you.
Our practice features an in-house optical boutique for all your eyeglass and contact lens needs. Our opticians can help you find eyewear that looks great, fits comfortably, and meets your needs.

Ophthalmologists and Optometrists What's the Difference?
At Contemporary Ophthalmology of Erie, our team is made up of both ophthalmologists and optometrists. Our experienced, respected eye doctors work together to provide the most accurate and comprehensive vision care possible to our valued patients.
An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor who has completed at least eight years of advanced training after earning a bachelor's degree. Ophthalmologists are able to perform surgical procedures to correct refractive errors or address certain eye diseases.
An optometrist is a doctor who focuses on testing and correcting eyesight. Optometrists can also diagnose eye diseases and prescribe medications. However, optometrists do not perform eye surgery.
For the most complete and convenient eye care, we recommend choosing a team that practices both optometry and ophthalmology. That's exactly what you'll find at our practice.
