LASIK

LASIK is an outpatient surgical procedure that is designed to reduce your dependency on glasses or contacts. LASIK, which we perform at Saint Vincent Surgical Center, uses a revolutionary laser to reshape your cornea through a hinged flap made in the cornea’s upper layer. The procedure uses concentrated laser beams to either flatten or increase the curvature of the cornea, correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism.

PRK

Much like LASIK, PRK uses a laser to reshape the curvature of the cornea. However, the PRK procedure begins with our doctors completely removing the cornea’s protective layer, allowing it to grow back naturally.

Cataracts

A cataract is clouding of your eye’s lens which causes blurred vision, distorted vision, dullness, and difficultly seeing at night. The most effective way to treat a cataract is to carefully remove the clouded lens and replace it with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). Placing an IOL in your eye can free you from having to wear glasses and, in most cases, restore your ability to see up close and at a distance.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is an eye disease that, if left untreated, can eventually cause blindness. The disease slowly deteriorates the optic nerve, resulting in gradual eyesight loss. We offer a safe and simple laser treatment called SLT that minimizes elevated eye pressure and can eliminate your dependency on previously prescribed treatment medications.
