LASIK is an outpatient surgical procedure that is designed to reduce your dependency on glasses or contacts. LASIK, which we perform at Saint Vincent Surgical Center, uses a revolutionary laser to reshape your cornea through a hinged flap made in the cornea’s upper layer. The procedure uses concentrated laser beams to either flatten or increase the curvature of the cornea, correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism.
Much like LASIK, PRK uses a laser to reshape the curvature of the cornea. However, the PRK procedure begins with our doctors completely removing the cornea’s protective layer, allowing it to grow back naturally. Drs. Levin and Imbrogno have more than 30 years of experience in performing vision correction procedures.
A cataract is clouding of your eye’s lens which causes blurred vision, distorted vision, dullness, and difficultly seeing at night. The most effective way to treat a cataract is to carefully remove the clouded lens and replace it with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). Placing an IOL in your eye can free you from having to wear glasses and, in most cases, restore your ability to see up close and at a distance.
Glaucoma is an eye disease that, if left untreated, can eventually cause blindness. The disease slowly deteriorates the optic nerve, resulting in gradual eyesight loss. We offer a safe and simple laser treatment called SLT that minimizes elevated eye pressure and can eliminate your dependency on previously prescribed treatment medications.
Do you want crisper, clearer eyesight that makes reading a whole lot easier? The doctors at our vision correction center in Erie, Pennsylvania offer several surgical and non-surgical procedures that can improve your sight both near and far. If you suffer from a slight astigmatism, Drs. Levin and Imbrogno can install an intraocular lens that gives you quality vision and reduces your dependence on glasses or contact lenses.
Your cornea covers the outermost surface of your eye and performs an important role in your optical health and vision. There are a variety of disorders which can affect the health of your cornea. We provide treatments for a range of conditions, including keratoconus, Fuchs' dystrophy, and many more.
